Xarelto lawsuits are consolidated lawsuits for people who have  suffered serious health complications after using this prescription anticoagulant. Lawsuits  have been filed against drug makers Bayer Healthcare and Johnson & Johnson. These lawsuits  claim that the  drug manufacturers failed to properly inform you about serious and potentially life-threatening risks associated with Xarelto.
  • internal bleeding,
  • gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Brain bleeding
  • other severe bleeding events.
  • Death
What is Xarelto? Xarelto is a blood thinner   approved in 2011 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the prevention of blood clots. It is manufactured by Bayer and marketed in the U.S. by Johnson & Johnson’s subsidiary, Janssen Pharmaceuticals. If you suffer from atrial fibrillation you may have been prescribed Xarelto because it can reduce the risk of stroke. It  prevents  blood clots in patients who have undergone knee and hip replacements as well. Clots that move  to the lungs, brain and legs can potentially lead to strokes and pulmonary embolism and result in death. What Is An Xarelto Lawsuit? An Xarelto lawsuit  claims that the drug makers were negligent in failing to disclose these severe and potentially fatal Xarelto bleeding risks. It is not a medical malpractice lawsuit

Pradaxa is a blood thinner used for cardiac patients but it has not antidote. A fall or minor bang or bump for our Alabama seniors could be fatal causing a brain hemorhage.

What else do I need to know if a parent or grandparent is on Pradaxa

It has been approved to reduce the risk of stroke in people with atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular heartbeat. It does this by thinning the blood to reduce the risk of blood clots. It has been recommended by the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the Heart Rhythm Society as a replacement for the current standard treatment, warfarin.  But a blood thinner does cause one to bleed easily. Extensive bleeding can result in a brain bleed which can be fatal.

Pradaxa can cause Intra-articular bleeding, pericardial bleeding, subdural bleeds, intracranial hemorrhage and hemorrhagic stroke are all potential fatal effects of taking Pradaxa. The Pradaxa works as a blood clot inhibitor to prevent clots from forming in a different manner than Warfarin or Coumadin. Warfarin is a Vitamin K adversary which prevents the formation of blood clots by intervening in the body’s Vitamin K production. Pradaxa, on the other hand works by inhibiting thrombins which are naturally occurring proteins in the body which encourage clot formation. With no known antidote to the effects of Pradaxa, bleed-outs can happen so swiftly that death occurs before measures can be taken to prevent it. There also currently exists no known method for measuring the anticoagulant effect of Pradaxa, while Warfarin anticoagulant effects can be tested in those taking the older drug.
