Conn. Anti-Stroke Pradaxa Drug, pradaxa lawyers filing lawsuits for extensive Bleeding from Pradaxa
Ridgefield pharmaceutical firm targeted in hundreds of actions nationwide
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Pradaxa in October 2010. Pradaxa is manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., of Ridgefield, Conn.
Since its approval, approximately 1.1 million Pradaxa prescriptions have been dispensed to 371,000 patients. In a report by Bloomberg News, Boehringer Ingelheim said it was aware of about 250 deaths associated with Pradaxa.
When the anticoagulant drug Pradaxa hit the U.S. market in late 2010, part of the marketing appeal was that the medication did not require blood monitoring, dose adjustments or dietary restrictions.
But dozens of plaintiffs in Connecticut claim they were injured ,in one case fatally , because the manufacturer did not provide an antidote to stop dangerous bleeding and did not adequately warn doctors about bleeding risks.
Call the pradaxa helpline to speak to a geriatric social worker and pradaxa lawyer.
